What to expect during the distance healing process
How do I begin?
I start with a photo of your animal and his name. I will begin by collecting some background information from you on the animal you wish to help. A specific diagnosis from your vet and any current or past treatments for the condition are particularly useful, otherwise reports of any signs or symptoms you have noticed.
I will also be interested in knowing the length of time your animal has been experiencing the condition and any events that preceded it, such as another illness or injury. Even medical and emotional changes of other household members may be useful! Don’t underestimate your own power of intuition. If you have a “feeling” about something that may be contributing to your animal’s issue I would like to know.
I will first determine if he is receptive to the energy I want to send. If I feel he is not I will let you know and there will be no charge. If he is open and receptive I will work with him for a week, usually daily but it depends on what your animal tells me he needs. Often acute (temporary) conditions are remedied quickly. If, after checking in with the animal and owner after a week, we feel further benefit can be gained by continuing treatments, we would set up another course of sessions so I can continue to send healing as needed over the course of one or more months at a reduced followup charge.
How will I know if it is working and my animal is getting better?
When I first connect with your animal I can generally tell if he is receptive to the energy. If the injury or illness occurred recently, it generally resolves more quickly, often in a matter of days. I’ve had a few cases that turned around in hours or even minutes, as you can see from reading the Case stories. Long-standing conditions such as lameness can take longer to see improvement and they are more difficult for me to treat.
I always ask for the energy I send to be used for the animal’s greatest benefit. Sometimes that means recovery, others times perhaps not. Sometimes the animal’s illness is his path. There have been times when I have “failed” to effect the change I’d hoped for only to discover later the reason why. Other times I never learn the reason but I have learned to accept that it is not my role to change what is to be.
I partner with the animal to promote the healing change. The animal needs to want this and usually they do... but not always.
Why wouldn’t my animal want to be healed?
Surprisingly, there are a number of reasons. The animal may be very familiar with a long standing ailment and not realize he could feel better. These are not difficult to work with. In rare cases, an animal may feel ready to die and is not interested in accepting the energy. Once an animal is ready to transition “the train has left the station” so to speak. In this situation I can send supportive energy to try to ease his transition but I can’t change the outcome. There would be no charge for this.
Occasionally I find that an animal is committed to the condition he is experiencing. There is a “payoff” that he perceives, a gain he feels he is receiving from his condition. It may be extra attention, or a break from being asked to work. A horse may be concerned about being sold to another owner if he gets better. Or the animal may be mirroring a health condition that is being experienced by a friend or owner and he is trying to bring attention to it. In these cases I attempt to intuit the reason that he is choosing the block the energy I am offering. Having said all this, very few of the animals choose to decline my offer of healing.
